Is DEXSAR web-based?
DEXSAR Accounts can be accessed by the web or though the PC Client Application. We strongly encourage you to use the PC Client application for DEXSAR Account access. The desktop DEXSAR Client provides stronger security measures, enhanced features, and the continued ability to use some of the functions should you not have an immediate Internet connection. Use web access when you are not at your PC but need to remote or quick access to your account. We support Microsoft Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers. A MAC Client application and support for the Safari browser are coming soon.
What kind of files will DEXSAR Accept?
Any type of file you wish to exchange and protect in your DEXSAR Account is accepted. You are not limited by the type or size of files you put in your DEXSAR Account.
What is a DEXSAR “Category” and “Container"?
DEXSAR provides users with a superior method for organizing and managing digital files than just folder icons. Research indicates when organizing any collection of items at home or in the office, attributes such as location, color, size, container type and labeling help create cognitive recollection capabilities which are used instinctively to retrieve items. DEXSAR uses this approach to provide convenient Categories and Containers, providing visual clues of color, size, container style, and placement to help you get. You can easily customize and change DEXSAR categories and containers to almost anything you want. We encourage it – because when you do you’ll be able quickly locate your files and documents, even after many years. For those times, you can’t recall, simply use the powerful DEXSAR search functionality.
What operating systems are supported for the DEXSAR Client Application?
Currently we support Microsoft Windows 2000 (with .net 2.0), XP and Vista. Support for MAC is coming shortly.
Can I exchange or share my files with others outside of my account?
Yes. You can exchange files with any one who has a DEXSAR Account. Simply set up a Share Container within your account and invite any other DEXSAR account holders to access that Share Container. As the creator of the Shared Container, you control who has access and what access rights they are given.
Can I set up other users to access my DEXSAR Account?
Yes. You can partition your account for other users. Each user you designate will have a DEXSAR account under your account with a personal login. These users will not see any of your files unless you grant them rights to specific containers. However as the owner of the DEXSAR account, you have complete visibility of their content. In a business setting, your employees can use your account to organize their own materials and access your files as you determine. In a family setting, your kids have their own space to organize and protect their games, music, (and hopefully homework!) You can share family photos, but they can’t get to your confidential family financial records
When should I consider the DEXSAR Administrative Module?
If you have the need to regularly or frequently deliver private and confidential information to many customers, clients, members, partners, patients, or suppliers, then the DEXSAR Administrative Module is for you. Many client-facing organizations use the DEXSAR Administrative Module to deploy accounts and manage file delivery securely to hundreds and thousands of their clients. The DEXSAR Administrative Module can be integrated with internal systems used to generate client statements and records. Organizations including accountants, lawyers, financial planners, insurance agents, banks, credit unions, financial investment firms, doctors, hospitals, child care providers and schools can all benefit by using the DEXSAR Administrative Module. What is my Instance ID?
Each DEXSAR Administrative Module installation requires a unique Instance ID as an additional security measure. This ID is used to provide access and track specific usage of the Module.
How does DEXSAR keep files and documents secure?

How do I know that my customers have not changed or modified the documents I sent them?
That’s actually up to you. DEXSAR Shared Containers can be set up so that your customers can easily read and copy the contents, but have no authority to change or delete the delivered content. All exchanged files are electronically notarized and access is recorded in an audit log. You can confirm the validity of e-notarized files at anytime. Thus DEXSAR helps you manage the risks related to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of exchanged documents and information.
Can I access my DEXSAR Account on more than one PC?
Yes. You can install the DEXSAR Client Application on any PC you have administrative privileges to and log into your account. Note, only one PC can be logged into your account at a time. For protection, you will be asked to respond to additional security questions when we detect a new computer is used with your account. You are not charged for the number of PCs used to access your individual account.
Does DEXSAR scan my files for viruses?
Yes, we protect you and all of our clients from harmful viruses! During the process of uploading a file from your PC/Laptop, DEXSAR scans the files for viruses. If it is virus free, the upload will complete without any notification to you. If the file contains a known virus, DEXSAR notifies you and does not keep the file.
Will DEXSAR work through my firewall?
DEXSAR was designed to work through firewalls. If the firewall is configured to allow outgoing web traffic on ports 80 and 443 (which are required for browsers to function), then your DEXSAR Account will correctly function.
Do you have an automatic backup solution?
DEXSAR understands that all of your data is important. Backups are performed regularly as part of our overall protection policies and procedures. To learn more, click here.
How fast is the file transfer rate?
Your file transfer speed depends on a number of factors such as Internet connection speed, IP provider, server location and time of day. You can refer to your Internet Service Provider regarding maximum transfer speeds; DEXSAR does not restrict transfer speeds. How do users know when I have sent them files?
Each DEXSAR Account has optional notifications which can be set by the user. When online with their PC, they can receive SMS messages on their cell phone, e-mail messages, and balloon messages from the DEXSAR tray icon on their PC. When not online, SMS and e-mail messages options can be set.
How do I set up my account for cell phone SMS notifications?
Contact DEXSAR Customer support and they will set up your account for you to receive SMS notifications from DEXSAR. You will need to provide them with your cell phone SMS gateway address. Please visit the SMS gateway address list to determine your correct address.

What liability protections for data loss do you offer?
Users are offered optional liability protection when they create a DEXSAR Account. You can add this feature to your DEXSAR Account, by clicking on Manage Your Account in the Desktop Client and at the web logon as well.

I forgot my password. Now what?
Password recovery is easy to do. From the web, visit the Login page, enter your user name and select "reset password". From the DEXSAR Client login, select the key icon located on the login screen.
